The anniversary of Alliterati's international launch is fast approaching, and we've decided to throw one more twist into the mix to commemorate it. From now until 23 November, we're accepting flash submissions to be included in Issue 13 (released 1 December). But there's a catch: your submissions must be in response to a piece previously featured in one of our issues.

Guidelines and Requirements

• Submissions should be sent to editor@alliteratimagazine.com with the subject "Flash Submission".
• Include a short bio (100 words) in the body of your email.
• The file name should include your name and the title of your work.
• Specify which piece you are responding to in the body of your email (if you choose your own from previous issues, please provide the issue and page number of the piece). Also, tell us what inspired you about the piece you chose.
• Prose should be no more than 1000 words; poetry no more than 20 lines.
• Images must be 300 dpi and minimum of 1200x1200 pixels
• Must be received by midnight GMT, 23 November.

And how I wish I had been re-born instead as the Thunderbird,
spending my life carrying updrafts of hot air against the
ocean breezes, a spirit of all colors, calling out with booming
thunder-voice. Still,

How to Enter
Submit your entry to the appropriate literature gallery, then add it to the appropriate contest folder in the group's gallery (Transgressions 2013 Prose and Transgressions 2013 Poetry).

Rules
 Poetry and prose are both accepted. Prose must be between 3,000 - 4,000 words; poetry no more than 60 lines. 

 Open to members and non-members.

 You must include the group icon and a link to the blog entry in your comments. 
 Must be a new piece; anything written before May 1 will not be accepted.
 Deadline is midnight May 31 GMT.
 Fan-fiction will not be accepted.
 Be reasonable about any mature content. 
 Donors are eligible to enter, however judges and group administrators may not.

 Not a rule so much as a helpful suggestion: outside the box is the place to be.

Judging will take place during the two weeks following the contest. Submissions will be judged on Technique, Creativity, and Theme.

 If you would like to volunteer to judge or donate prizes, please note the group with specific details on what you are willing to do and/or contribute.
